Sparkling Storytelling Workshops
Here you will find our current storytelling sessions and Drama and Well-being workshops available to book for your school or community setting.
Our workshops aim to-
- Enrich children’s education and well-being through creative exploration and play.
- Excite + Encourage young people to engage with the arts.
- Empower young people to find their 'voice' through the use of storytelling, drama, music, movement, creative expression and magic!
- Ignite confidence and self belief in young people to be the superstars they are!
We have a range of workshop themes available that have proven popular with schools and SEN settings. We can also work to specific topics, stories, and projects; creating a bespoke creative and interactive workshop to suit your topic and needs.
All workshops aim to enhance current learning and bring in a creative slant. Our ethos is to support positive mental well-being through the power of the creative arts and our workshops and storytelling are always interactive, musical and allow for engaging in different ways to suit needs.
All workshops are delivered by experienced arts and well-being practitioners, with up to date DBS checks and public liability. Sessions and follow up resources are created by Monika who is a qualified and practising Drama practitioner and will fit into the National Curriculum for your year and topic.
We also offer staff CPD sessions (sharing creative well-being practice) as well as programmes and 1-2-1/group training to enhance storytelling, well-being and drama based learning within the cross-curricular classroom.
How does Drama support the National Curriculum?
- Role-play and other drama techniques can help pupils to identify with and explore characters-supporting language, expression and communication skills.
- Drama and role-play can contribute to the quality of pupils’ writing by providing opportunities for pupils to develop and order their ideas-supporting literacy and language development.
- Becoming more confident in using language in a greater variety of situations, for a variety of audiences and purposes.
Drama and storytelling also gives children the opportunity to explore their sense of self, use their voice in different ways, feel their body react and express emotions in a safe and creative space.
Our aim with each Super Sparkle workshop is to Spark imaginations, ignite confidence and ideas and empower young people to be the superstars they are!
